| 2007 Lime & Violet Sock Marathon |

This is my sock yarn stash...all 8.64 miles of it. As half of Lime & Violet, I'm kind of obligated to participate in 2007 Sock Marathon. I'm not complaining by any means. This is just a big kick in the pants to get organized, get back online, and get knitting like mad. I have 2 pairs of socks that I have to finish up, which I did not include in my mileage. One is the Monkey socks pattern that I'm making with yarn from Two Loops. The other is an original sock design that I'm making with some Mountain Colors yarn in Thunderhead. I may count these last two socks as one pair for the purpose of the marathon. I also have a skein of Lisa Souza in the L&V colorway that I started knitting way back when. I'm just past the ankle on my first thigh-high toe-up sock with this yarn. Okay, just thinking about this gets me feeling a little overwhelmed.
One thing I think I am going to have to do for at least the first 3 months of 2007 is to not buy any more new yarn. I need to knit up what I have, see where I'm at, and then decide if I want to and can extend that 3 months to perhaps 6 months. We'll see. I may go stir-crazy in the process.
And, as mentioned on the podcast, here are pics of Kiltboy's Christmas present, some custom-designed, hand-embroidered Godzilla slippers. It's basically a black pair of slippers with felt shapes of Godzilla and Tokyo embroidered on with embroidery floss. The kicker is the voice-recorder disks that I inserted into each slipper. The slipper with Godzilla on it says, "Grar! Look at all the little Japanese people I am squashing!" and the Tokyo slipper has Miss V's voice saying, "Ahh, Godzira!" followed by her, sideshow husband, and myself screaming. The slippers were, needless to say, fairly well received.

I just found you through the #limenviolet IRC room (I've been listening to your podcasts and visiting the msg boards, too). So just a few hours ago I added you to my friends list, thinking it would be a while before you updated. Glad it wasn't that long!
So...can I just say that Kiltboy is the LUCKIEST SLIPPER RECIPIENT ALIVE? I mean, years ago I got a doll head, glued white hair and teeny tiny glasses and a teeny tiny pipe on it, and sewed it to a slipper and called it a Freudian Slipper, and that was well received, but it was only one slipper and so it ended up as a cat baby (cat 'toy' doesn't really illustrate the love with which Ma's cat drags it everywhere he goes).
Enough about Ma's old slippers. You are a genius and you should market those slippers before someone steals your idea. If I get extra time and "borrow" your idea, I'll be sure to credit you. I doubt I'll get that much extra time, though.

Good luck knitting up your sock yarn. I'm not going to participate in this -along primarily because I'd have to do math before even starting, but also because I've got a couple of projects that are non-sock yarn that have to be finished in time for my mom's March birthday. Not Godzeera slippers, though.
I agree with redzils, too - your stash is very pretty. I see some very nice Opal in the back there that I can't wait to see knitted up. :)

Love the slippers. I need to try and get all of my sock yarn in one place to flash it. But I think you need to have more lime in your stash ;) It looks like we have some of the same yarns in our stashes though.
